First & Second Grade

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

My name is Sr. Heba Jamal, and I am honored and excited to begin my fourth year at Hudson Valley Islamic School. Being part of HVIS is especially meaningful to me because I have had the privilege of being here from the very beginning. As the first teacher at HVIS, I have had the unique opportunity to help build and grow our school community into what it is today. Watching our school, students, and families grow over the years has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

I earned my Master of Science in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) and my Master of Science in Special Education (Pre-K–12), and I am passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels supported, encouraged, and inspired to learn. I believe every student brings something special to the classroom, and my goal is to help them grow academically, socially, and spiritually while building confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

This year, I will be teaching 1st and 2nd grade, and I am looking forward to creating meaningful experiences filled with curiosity, creativity, kindness, and growth. I strive to build a classroom rooted in strong Islamic values where students feel safe, respected, challenged, and excited to come to school each day.

One of the things I value most is the partnership between school and home. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our families and being part of each child’s educational journey.
